A bakery in Scotland has just had a £250,000 production line fitted for gluten-free products – and a fire late last week has caused extensive damage.
Apparently the bakery (United Central Bakeries) supplies gluten free bread to Tesco, which may mean that the Tesco Free From range is depleted in future … here’s hoping that the gluten free production line was relatively undamaged, and that they can continue to supply bread. We like the Tesco Free From pitta breads, but I don’t know if these are supplied from this bakery.
Workers fear for their jobs – fingers crossed that the bakery quickly recovers.
I’ve written a book summarising what we’ve learnt over 20 years of dealing with the gluten free diet, and it might be just what you’re looking for. It packs the lessons we’ve learned into what I hope is a helpful and straightforward guidebook. It’s available on Amazon, as a paperback or for your Kindle… |

Hi Joyce – thanks for your comment. United Central Bakeries was taken over by Genius – is it their bread you can’t find in your local store? Please contact Genius direct, here: https://geniusglutenfree.com/en_gb/contact
